Minimum Safety Equipment Requirements
The following list outlines the minimum safety equipment required on
Sail Boats over 9m and up to 12m (29’6″ – 39′ 4″). You may want to bring more equipment based on your type of boat, your activity and the current and forecasted weather and water conditions. You can review the equipment you must carry
aboard your boat and get specific information about each piece.

NAVIGATION LIGHT AND SHAPE REQUIREMENTS
Sail Boats from 7m (23’) to under 20m (65’7’’) – Rule 25

NOTE : In the Canadian waters of a roadstead (mooring area), harbour, river, lake or inland waterway,
a sail boat under 12 m that is also being propelled by a motor
is not required to exhibit forward a conical shape (point downwards) where it can best be seen.
Sailing and Motoring
A sailboat when also being propelled by a motor shall exhibit forward where it can best be seen a conical shape, point downwards.
